Seven Stages Shakespeare Company presents the first U.S. production of the highly praised new play by pre-eminent Shakespearean scholar, Jonathan Bate.
This inventive work draws from Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets to further understand just who “the soul of his age” was (and what that age looked like.)
Acclaimed actor Joel Colodner brings to life an aging Lear, a cryptic Ophelia, Hamlet torn between revenge and doubt, ambitious Macbeth, flawless Henry V – all in the quest to get closer to the man moving the quill.
“A memorably multidimensional picture of Shakespeare, steeped in scholarship and love.”
– The Guardian
